Mayor Bill Collins is announcing that all offices in Marion City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The following departments for the City of Marion will operate as noted below on Monday, January 20, 2025:
- Sanitation crews will collect garbage and recycling on Monday, January 20. Residents who normally have refuse collected on Monday are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.
- Marion Area Transit will be open with bus service available on Monday, January 20, 2025.
- Marion Senior Center will be open with transportation available on Monday, January 20.
Essential services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.

Effective immediately, the Marion City Income Tax office has re-opened its office to the public for regular business hours of Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
