Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that all City departments will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2019 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Offices in City Hall will also be closed on Friday, November 29, 2019.
PLEASE NOTE: As a result of City Hall offices being closed on Thursday and Friday, many of the offices in City Hall will be observing their weekly early closure day on Wednesday, November 27, with notable early closures being the Municipal Court and Utility Billing offices closing at 2:00 p.m. |
The Sanitation and Streets Department will not collect trash, recycling, yard waste or leaves on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Services by these crews will resume on Friday, November 29. The Sanitation Department will collect refuse for both Thursday and Friday; therefore, residents who normally have Thursday sanitation and recycling service are asked to have their refuse at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Friday. Yard waste and leaf collection will also resume on Friday.
Marion Area Transit will be closed and have no bus service available on Thursday, November 28 or Friday, November 29. Normal bus service will resume on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Marion Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Transportation will be available for dialysis patients on Friday, November 29. All other programs and activities will resume at the Senior Center on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
