Internet Auction will be held on July 25, 2017 for 1971 Oshkosh Articulating Boom Snorkel Fire Truck
In accordance with Ordinance No. 2017-06, passed by Marion City Council, January 23, 2017, there will be an Internet Auction held by the City of Marion, Director of Public Safety, 233 W. Center St., Marion, Ohio 43302 on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM for the purchase of a 1971 Oshkosh Articulating Boom Snorkel Fire Truck.
The Snorkel is a 1971 Oshkosh articulating boom Snorkel and was refurbished in 1990 at a cost of $125,000. This truck passed an Aerial Apparatus test in December 2015.
The City of Marion will have the vehicle available for inspection on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 between 10:00 AM & 2PM. The vehicle will be located at 1069 Bellefontaine Ave., Marion, Ohio. All bidders must adhere to the inspection date and times indicated in the vehicle description and contact only the person listed to schedule an inspection.
Bids shall remain firm for a period of five (5) days following the closing date. Minimum bid for the Snorkel is set at $4,000.00. Bidders will need to email their bid to linda.s@marionohio.org. The successful bidder(s) will be required to remit payment within five (5) calendar days from date of the Notice of Award and shall be in the form of Cash, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check of Money Order made payable to the City of Marion, 233 W. Center St., Marion, Ohio 43302. Remit payment along with the email Notice of Award. The award will be made to the highest responsive, responsible bidder. The highest bids will be posted on the City of Marion website www.marionohio.us, as they are received. Awarded items must be removed from the City’s premises within five (5) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Notice of Award.
The successful bidder is responsible for loading and removal of any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website and in the Notice of Award. The successful bidder will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Under no circumstance will the City assume responsibility for packing, loading or shipping. The sale is as is/no warranties. The City of Marion may be contacted for any and all additional information.
